These are wonderful pictures - and brought even more to life by the captivating titles. I'm glad I stumbled over you blog.

Hi Christine,

I'm glad that you found something on my blog that caught your eye. Working with these images is a lot of fun for me and it always makes me happy when someone else can get some enjoyment out of them as well.

About the titles... I've got sort of a love/hate relationship when it comes to the titles. Sometimes I know what the title is going to be the moment I release the shutter. Other times, its the very last thing that I add before I hit the publish button.

I'm glad that they worked for you. :-)

I’ve looked closer at this year’s pictures. I’m amazed about how the light on the photos is bright and soft at the same time. I think that some of the titles add to the mystery of the pictures, like Birthday Boy or this one An Afternoon with John. They make me curios to know more about the people and the occasion. Others, like Blind Exposure, are very witty. It’s great to see trees. There are no trees where I live so they seem rather exotic and very beautiful to me – with or without leaves. They are tall and slender where you live. The scenery looks wonderful – I’m not quite sure where North Carolina is exactly, I’ll look it up.

Yeah... light is an ethereal sort of thing. Its always moving, changing, flowing... and I'm always hoping that I can capture that "balance" that you're talking about. Most of the time, I don't. As a matter of fact, most of the photos that I take are pretty bland.

But then there is that "one" that stands out. Sometimes it is almost magical. Whenever I'm fortunate enough to capture one of those images... it really makes my day! Moments like that are the reason that I do photography.

I have to chuckle a bit about the Blind Exposure. I wasnt feeling creative at all that day, so I just started snapping pictures of stuff around my desk. I try to post a picture everyday and that happened to be the only one that I took that day. I'm glad someone found some humor in it. (I thought it was kind of bland. Hahaha)

I generally try to carry my camera with me most of the time, so you'll see pictures of everyday stuff in my life. N.C scenery, work, stuff I see when I'm on my bicycle rides, concerts that I go to, and family. I try to respect the privacy of others, so I try to avoid putting a lot of faces on the blog, but it shouldnt be too difficult to figure out who most of these people are. :-)

I live in the eastern part of NC about 90 miles from the coast. Its quite flat around here and the trees here are quite different from the trees in the western part of the state.

I dont know a lot about Greenland. What can you tell me about the island on top of the world?

Peace,

Rainey
